In the event there was any doubt that legal malpractice claims can be expensive, in the first part of 2025 TLI closed 12 claims which cost approximately $1,866,000 to defend and bring to resolution. Deadlines and Limitations

The client retained the attorney to represent her in a personal injury lawsuit.  Although the attorney sent a pre-suit demand letter to the at-fault party, the attorney mis-calendared the statute of limitations deadline and failed to file suit before the limitations deadline.    The client hired the attorney to sue the client’s insurance carrier for allegedly failing to pay a sufficient amount for damage to the client’s real property.
