In second quarter of 2025, TLI closed 25 claims which cost approximately $635,000 to defend and resolve. We are providing summaries of several of the closed claims with lessons learned to further benefit our insureds in their own practices: 

Deadlines and Limitations  Insured failed to file a personal injury lawsuit by the statute of limitations deadline because insured’s employee entered the wrong year into the case management software.    Insured failed to timely designate experts, including an expert on attorneys’ fees. The court granted the opposing party’s motion to exclude experts at trial. Although the insured won the case for the client, the court did not permit expert testimony on the insured’s fees or to rebut fees for the opposing party.
