Scott Schieffer joined the TLI Board of Directors in 2024. He practices in Dallas, focusing his legal practice on estate planning, probate and tax matters. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member of the Virginia Tax Review. He is also a graduate of Baylor University, where he received Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy degrees. He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen and KPMG, during which time he was licensed as a CPA, achieving a top ten score on the uniform CPA exam in Texas. Following his law school graduation, he continued his professional career and received his legal training at two Dallas law firms, Hughes & Luce (and its successor firm) and Meadows Collier. In 2012, he launched his own firm. A native of Carthage, Texas, he maintains an office there, as well.  He enjoys assisting clients in achieving their goals, both in estate planning and tax, in an optimal and efficient manner under the law. He is passionate about travel and is an avid college football, NFL and tennis fan.
