Texas Lawyers' Insurance Exchange is committed to helping attorneys avoid legal malpratice claims and grievance complaints. In 1997, TLIE created a Risk Management Department to handle all of our risk management and loss prevention activities, including seminars, newsletters, direct consultations, videotapes and research assistance on risk management issues.

Newsletters
TLIE's online newsletter, TLIE Legal Malpractice Advisory, which addresses current legal malpractice and ethics issues and offers practical tips for avoiding claims and grievance complaints. The newsletter emphasizes loss prevention articles, in addition to news of TLIE activities or announcements. TLIE's Director of Risk Management, Jett Hanna, is the editor of the Advisory which has been published since 1982. Self Audit
TLIE has published a Self-Audit booklet designed to guide lawyers toward areas for possible reduction in exposure to malpractice claims. TLIE offers the Self-Audit booklet free of charge to all Texas attorneys. Seminars
We also participate in and conduct numerous CLE presentations throughout the year in conjunction with both the State Bar of Texas and local bar associations.
