TLIE mourns the passing of Board of Director Mary-Ann Bellatti
TLIE NewsTLIE said goodbye to long-time TLIE Director Mary-Ann Abbott Bellatti with her passing on August 5, 2022. Mary-Ann lived in Houston and had served on the TLIE Board of Directors since 1999.
Mary-Ann was born February 24, 1945 in Tulsa, OK, and grew up in Stillwater, OK. She graduated from Pine Manor College in Wellesley, MA with her AA in 1965, before continuing her education at Oklahoma State University where she earned her BA in 1967.
Mary-Ann graduated from the South Texas College of Law in May 1987, magna cum laude, and then worked at Sheinfeld, Maley & Kay in Houston, TX.
During her long tenure on the TLIE Board, one of Mary-Ann’s most significant contributions was the successful annual renewal of the company’s reinsurance treaties.
She enjoyed travel, culture and art history, and traveled the world with family and friends, shopping for antiques and other treasures along the way.
Mary-Ann is survived by her sister, brother-in-law, two nieces and five great nieces and nephews. Mary-Ann fostered many meaningful friendships throughout her life and will be greatly missed by all who called her family, friend or colleague.
