After more than 34 years of distinguished service to the legal profession, Senior Vice President Jett Hanna announced that he will retire from Texas Lawyers’ Insurance Exchange at the end of 2021.
Jett began his career with TLIE in 1987 as a Claims Attorney helping to resolve professional liability claims against Texas lawyers and judges. He later assumed leadership of the Underwriting, Risk Management and IT Departments. In recent years, Jett also developed and presented TLIE’s Continuing Legal Education programming and edited TLIE’s newsletter.
Jett received his B.B.A., summa cum laude, in Management Science and Computers from Southern Methodist University in 1980, and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1983. Jett is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU).
He has lectured and written extensively on legal malpractice, ethics and insurance topics. Jett was also recognized in 2009 as a top writing contributor to the Charter for Compassion.
