TLIE Declares 20th Consecutive Distribution
This is TLIE’s 37th anniversary, and I am very pleased to report that 2016 was another successful year for Texas Lawyers’ Insurance Exchange. On December 19, 2016, TLIE’s Board of Directors declared a policyholder distribution of $4.75 million. TLIE has returned a total of $46,300,000 to policyholders since 1997.
TLIE’s strong financial performance also enabled us to strengthen policyholder surplus this year to over $61.7 million after the distribution as of November 30, 2016. Based in part on the strength of TLIE’s surplus, A.M. Best recently affirmed TLIE’s financial strength rating of “A” (Excellent). Strong policyholder surplus is important because it provides protection from future uncertainties and helps ensure that TLIE will be here when you need us.
