Frequently Asked Questions . . .

Q: Is my lawyer insured?

A: TLIE does not release information about insureds without either the insured's consent or a court order.

Q: Is my lawyer required to have insurance?

A: Texas does not require lawyers to have insurance or to disclose whether they have insurance. Oregon has a mandatory program, and a few states require lawyers to disclose to clients whether they have insurance or not.

Q: Can you help me figure out how to file a claim?

A: If you believe you have a valid claim against an attorney you should seek the advice of another lawyer.
