Special Basic Policy Programs

TLIE has several special programs in which the Basic Policy is offered at a reduced premium to lawyers with specific limited needs in certain situations. The Basic Policy offered under any of these programs will be limited to Policy Limits of $100,000 per claim and $300,000 aggregate, with a $1,000 deductible.

The New Attorney Program

Available to lawyers who have been licensed for 3 years or less.

The Part-Time Attorney Program

Available to lawyers who work less than 25 hours per week.

The Contract Attorney Program

Available to lawyers who work at least 75% of the time as contract attorneys for other lawyers or firms. Claims by the employing lawyer or firm are not covered.

The Referral Service Only Program

Available to lawyers who only want coverage for certain ABA-accredited lawyer referral services. Currently, the TLIE program is available only to participants in the Houston Lawyer Referral Service, the Dallas Bar Association Referral Service, the Tarrant County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service and the Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas. Only claims arising from matters assigned by the designated lawyer referral service are covered.
